He even sleeps better there than he does at home, Kathleen is a baby whisperer! I am very happy with the care here and would highly recommend Little Angels to anyone in the North Shore!. Knowing Little Angels care is so warm, loving and safe has helped me transition back to work and relieved my stress about leaving my son in someone else's care. We just started bringing our infant son to Kathleen as well. Kathleen also has been instrumental in helping us learn how to kindly discipline and teach our daughter proper, polite behavior. Kathleen knows how to teach to all levels, for example when younger kids are coloring or painting, our daughter can do that or practice her letters and spelling her name. Kathleen is very clean (she practices great hand washing with the kids!) and our daughter rarely gets sick in her care. Our daughter loves Kathleen like a mother and even sometimes asks to go to daycare on the weekends! Our daughter is part of her family and I feel very comfortable sending her there. She dances and sings with the kids every day, she teaches them yoga and encourages free play and creative fun. We have been sending our daughter to Little Angels Daycare for two years now. Just yesterday when I dropped the kids off at her house, my son told me to go to work! And when I pick them up, they are never in a rush to leave. I've found Carla to be very flexible and accommodating - and always willing to help in order to make our lives a little easier. My kids are treated and feel part of her family and enjoy their time at daycare. Just now she is helping with the transition to potty training and helping the kids to learn how to clean up after themselves, which is a huge help!Ĭarla is a very loving caregiver - I truly believe she cares for my children deeply. She is a great partner working towards developmental milestones. During that time Carla has fostered and encouraged both behavioral and educational development of my children. It is the ecology of nature, including man, which motivates and moves design. My 2 1/2 year old twins have been in Carla's care for over a year. To be able to make a garden, the garden maker needs to meld with the landscape on the site, while natural phenomena become mnemonics for common knowledge as expressed in well-known passages in classic literature or poetry. The object and subject, as either the landscape or the garden maker, shift continuously moving towards the conclusion: landscape and garden maker are both object and subject and are interchangeable. The ever-changing moods and appearances of landscape in full action are understood by the author as an independent function that becomes an agent for garden making. Rather it deals with the essence of landscape design philosophy in its entirety. The text presents jie jing not as a single design idea of borrowing scenery as is usually believed. The title of the last chapter of Yuanye is Jie jing 借景, borrowing scenery. However in face of a more advanced understanding of the last, conclusive chapter ten of the book it is clear that natural features are in fact the prime theme of Yuanye. Contrasts have been drawn between this and other classic works of East Asian garden design, such as Sakuteiki (of the Japanese Heian period) which concentrates on water and rocks, and numerous Japanese works of the Edo period ( Tsukiyama teizoden, Sagaryuniwa kohohiden no koto, Tsukiyama sansuiden), to suggest a fundamental difference in approach between Chinese and Japanese garden design - namely, emphasis on architectural and natural features, respectively. The work is primarily focused on architectural features, rather than natural features. Volume three covers doorways, windows, walls, decorative pavements, artificial mounds, rock selection, and a final chapter, chapter ten on borrowed scenery ( jie jing). Volume two contains descriptions and illustrations of decorative balustrades. Volume one focuses on overall principles, in particular: situation, layout, buildings and their fittings. It is now considered the definitive work on garden design of the many produced during that period, and has been labeled as the first monograph dedicated to garden architecture in the world, and among the great masterpieces of garden literature. Yuanye ( Chinese 園冶, Pinyin yuán yě), variously translated as The Garden Treatise or The Craft of Gardens, is a 1631 work on garden design by Ji Cheng of the late Ming dynasty. For the Chinese contemporary classical opera titled Yuanye, see Savage Land (disambiguation).
